About First Voices Radio:
”First Voices Radio,” now in its 32nd year on the air, is an internationally syndicated one-hour radio program originating from and heard weekly on Radio Kingston WKNY 1490 AM and 107.9 FM in Kingston, New York. Hosted by Tiokasin Ghosthorse (Lakota), who is the show's Founder and Executive Producer, "First Voices Radio" explores global topics and issues of critical importance to the preservation and protection of Mother Earth presented in the voices and from the perspective of the original peoples of the world. History: "Indian Voices" hosted by Gary Wessels-Galbreath started airing in February 1986 on KAOS 89.3 FM in Olympia, WA. Tiokasin renamed the show "View From the Shore” while serving as co-host until 1992 when he was given his own show, “Exposing the Apologetic Predator,” which later became “Primal Minds.” Tiokasin left KAOS in 2003 and “First Voices Indigenous Radio” (now “First Voices Radio”) was born shortly afterward at WBAI 99.5 FM in New York City. Over the years, “First Voices Radio” has also broadcasted from WPKN 89.5 FM in Bridgeport, CT and WIOX 91.3 FM in Roxbury, NY.
