Isaiah speaks to us today as he spoke to the children of God.
God is showing the children of Israel that he is the only God and that oneness of God is something that they need to find in their lives and their faith, just as we need to find in our faith.
Reading from the Prophecies of Isaiah - Fasting
The kind of fasting God wants is to remove the chains of oppression, and the oak of injustice, and let the oppressed go free. Share your food with the hungry and open your homes to the homeless and poor.
Reading from The Book of Job
You believe, because you see. You believe in him, you walk with him, as he will walk with you in the week which now unfolds before you, to show you how much he loves you, even as he showed Job.
Following the road to Emmaus
After Easter, it is a time to contemplate all that God has given to us and the things that he shares with us as his children as he blesses us in the things that we experience in our lives.
Happy Easter from The Rev!
Do we really believe what we see, do we really believe what we hear, do we really find hope and promise in what God is giving us? On Easter Sunday, allow your mind, allow your soul to wraps itself around the things you were given.
Thank You for spending Palm Sunday with us.
We welcome Christ coming into the city of Jerusalem. Remember that shouting Hosannah is to honor Him. He expects us to honor Him with our life and to serve him the things that he sets before us.
The Burdens of Lent
Burdens come in all shapes and sizes, requiring our efforts and many times sapping our energy, our strength and our abilities. Lent carries burdens as well. Take the Peace God gives you, see what he has done for you in this season of Lent. Thank Him for all that he did for you.
We forget how much Jesus did suffer.
We are reminded during this season of the pain that Christ must have felt many times as he tries so hard to share God's love.
The season of Lent forces us to see the sacrifices of Jesus.
In seeing him, we also see ourselves and attempt to correlate what we see with the encounter that we have ourselves.
Tune in Sunday mornings at 7:30 for Morning Meditations, a “religious” program to focus listeners on the love of God that comes to us from Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We’ll share the reading of God’s Word, pray together, enjoy reverent music, and share a short Homily to focus on the particular subject of the Church year. Whether you’re tuning in on your way to your place of worship or tuning in to worship along with Reverend Stickley, we’re happy to share the wonder of God’s love in Jesus Christ.
