In this week's show:

  • What to watch for on the stories we've been following: Congressman Antonio Delgado's first term and re-election campaign; they're still ballot counting in the November 5th local elections; upcoming public hearings on Tuesday, December 10th, at the Ulster County Legislature on housing reforms and reducing the number of Legislators, as well as budget work still to be done.
  • Legislator Hector Rodriguez was censured at the Ulster County Legislature on Tuesday, November 19th, by a vote of 17-5.  Then he voted in favor of a policy to prohibit appointees of Ulster County elected officials and board of elections staff from holding any elective local office, which won by one vote, 12-11.  It's what some people call the Dan Torres Bill, after the New Paltz Councilman and Deputy County Executive who spoke out about Hector Rodriguez's behavior with women last February.
  • Feminist Round Table with Silvana Ramos and Becca Wild.  We analyze this week’s censure vote in the Ulster County Legislature through a feminist lens and how, despite any of the cultural shifts made, we still don’t center survivors or believe women. We’ll talk about how women uphold the patriarchy, how the backlash against the #MeToo movement is really a tamping down, and, of course, the true crux of it all: power.  Go to the interview highlight for feminist resources!
  • What to watch for on city stories we've been covering: Mayor Steve Noble's first term and re-election; the Common Council meets the first Monday and Tuesday of each month; and the latest on the Kingstonian.
  • Civic Round Table with Rashida Tyler and Lynn Eckert to untangle the current state of local civil discourse, cycling in and out of the public realm, and the cost of telling the truth, from political, activist, and media perspectives.
  • Huge thanks to everyone for this wonderful run of a popular Radio Kingston show.  We could not have done it without all of you!  See you around!
