Jaguar Mary X

Jaguar Mary X – 6 pm to 10 pm Jaguar Mary X was the host of Midday and Midnight Medicine Journey and Invisible Realm, programs that center on ancestral appreciation and international music by BIPOC experimental, electronic, and ambient producers. They also co-hosted Dream Life Radio with Lisa B Kelly and IONE. They have been part of the Radio Kingston community since 2020. Jaguar Mary X is a glossolalia vocalist, ritual performance artist, advanced Reiki practitioner, and sound energy medicine guide. Their practice is influenced by afro-indigenous shamanism and vibrational medicine through touch, sound, and movement. They are the 2022 recipient of The City of Kingston Distinguished Artist Award.  After a life-shifting experience with mugwort, they began to share the plant’s healing properties, organizing ritual smudging performance happenings. Jaguar Mary X developed Artemisia Negra, a pop-up event offering handmade incense and other healing tools infused with mugwort (L. artemisia vulgaris) in 2019. They appear regularly at the Kingston Farmer’s Market during the outdoor season.
