Mr Chips

Dreams of being a Hip Hop hero in the 1980s set Mr Chips on a path into music from which he would never return. Fascinated by the use of samples in Hip Hop, he started collecting music and began DJing Golden Era Hip Hop (before it was called that), later expanding into its roots of Soul, Funk and Dance Floor Jazz. After building a career in the New York City’s music industry, Mr Chips captured dance floor attention at several residencies in New York and Philadelphia, with random other gigs at major venues like the Theater at Madison Square Garden, Roseland Ballroom and Irving Plaza, opening up for pioneers in Neo Soul, Jazz, and Electronic music. These days he continues to live for the beat while running his Graphic Design and Creative Services operation in Kingston.
