Sal Guido and Steven Peruso

Sal Guido is a hospitality professional, with over 25 years of experience as a manager and owner/operator in the restaurant business.  At 16, Sal began working for his cousin Frank Guido at Mariner’s Harbor in Highland, NY.  Over the course of the next 10 years, he became an integral part of the management team for the Guido Restaurant Group, with successful restaurants in both Highland and Red Hook, NY, while also earning his BA in Business Administration from SUNY New Paltz in 1997. Sal’s passion has always been customer service and he is most proud of the relationships he has built over the years and those still to come.  

Another great passion that Sal has is his love of sports.  Good Sports allows Sal to fulfill his dream of talking sports on the radio.

Steven Peruso was born in Manhattan and moved to Kingston at an early age. He attended John A. Coleman High School and St. Thomas Aquinas College where he was active in athletics. His passion for sports was instilled in him from his family early in life as he became an avid fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Football Giants.

Steven’s passion for food and people made the restaurant business a perfect fit for him and he opened Steven’s Restaurant in 1981. Along with great food, patrons of Steven’s always left with the feeling of being one of the family with the Peruso’s. Steven’s was one of the areas most popular restaurants until Steve decided to retire from the business in 2003.

Steven’s love of sports has continued and it was only fitting that after a few spirited conversations with Sal Guido they thought it was time to create Good Sports.
