Good Friday friends! Today on La Voz with Mariel Fiori is immigration and culture day.
We were visited by Nohan Meza, general coordinator of La Voz magazine and student in the MBA sustainability program at Bard College.
In her column Speaking of the Heart, What They Didn't Tell Us, teacher Maritza del Razo told us about one of the solutions that Juan Gonzalez proposes in his book The Harvest of the Empire: Recognize the rights of linguistic minorities and promote the widespread use of the Spanish.
She also invited us on November 9th from 7-8pm to watch the documentary Soldiers: Chicanos in Vietnam where she will be part of the panel discussion at the conclusion of the film.
Additionally, Dr. Diana Zuckerman, President of the National Center for Health Research and the Cancer Prevention and Treatment Fund, discussed playgrounds installed over the summer in Kingston City Schools that have surfaces highly toxic and carcinogenic.
