Happy Tuesday, friends! Today on La Voz with Mariel Fiori, we're talking about politics and health.
Giselle Martinez, Democratic councilwoman for the City of Newburgh, Ward 1, discussed the situation with the detention center that ICE plans to establish in Chester. We also heard part of the message from Orange County Executive, Republican Steve Neuhaus, on the matter.
Teryl Mickens, councilwoman for the City of Kingston, Ward 5, explained the KLDC's low-interest loans of up to $35,000 to improve the storefronts of Kingston businesses. Businesses interested in these loans or other KLDC (Kingston Local Development Corporation) programs should contact Amanda L. (Mandy) Bruck, executive director, at 845-334-3930 or through their website, KLDC-ny.org.
In addition, Dr. Marta Sanchez, medical director of the Pine Street Family Health Center at the Institute for Family Health, spoke about the federal changes to vaccines and how they affect us locally.
