Shawn Harrison

Shawn Harrison, founder of Well+Being Hudson Valley and Yoga Lab is dedicated to supporting the health of our community through the practice of yoga and mindfulness. In addition to over 16 years practicing, studying and teaching yoga and meditation, Shawn has a B.S. in Human Development from Vanderbilt University and is trained in the science backed and evidence based MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction) approach through Brown University.

Shawn trained in yoga at Sivananda Ashram in India in 2004. Then spent 4 years living, working and teaching at Ananda Ashram, a yoga and meditation center in Monroe, NY. Shawn is a dedicated student and practitioner. She has been studying with her teacher, meditation master Shiva Rudra Balayogi, for the past 13 years.

Mindfulness is a building block of a peaceful society. It’s about paying attention to and taking good care of ourselves, each other and the world around us. Taking time to slow down, pause and consciously breathe. Creating a fertile atmosphere for change one mindful moment at a time. Simple actions change the world.”
